Netsil Integration
Netsil was a standalone Infrastructure monitoring for modern cloud tool that was acquired by Nutanix. The product got a complete integration and redesign to Prism Design Language to be a part of the Nutanix product ecosystem.
Role
Lead visual an interaction designer in charge of collaborating with the original Netsil team to bring their product as part of the Nutanix ecosystem.
Challenges
- Integration had many technical challenges because how Netsil and Nutanix back end. That made us do many adjustments as implementation and design were happening in tandem due to a very tight schedule.
- Connections between elements in Netsil were saturated and heavy. Designing them in a clear way was a must, to ensure users could read them clearly.
- Make sure original Netsil users felt familiar in the new ecosystem.
Results
- This project had design system equivalents for most of the components.
- The infrastructure map was the feature that was completely new for Nutanix, we decided to implement a similar structure to Calm blueprints (another product aquired by Nutanix). This landed in a pattern that was already familiar for Nutanix users and cleaned the screen for original users making easier to consume the information on the screen.
